ADi Motorsports Premiering in the 2006 Rolex Grand Am Season

Alton, Va - ADi Motorsports will be premiering in the 2006 Rolex Grand Am season starting at next week's Grand Prix of Miami at Homestead Speedway. The Dinan BMW / Picchio has undergone extensive testing and improvements over the last few months and is ready to compete in the series for the remainder of the 2006 season. Driving the Picchio entry at Homestead will be Tim Hubman, of Miami Beach, Florida,, an accomplished driver in ALMS prototypes, and other road racing venues. Tim will be driving the Picchio number 33 for the remainder of the season. His driving teammate for Homestead will be Picchio driver Alex Ciompi, of Follonica, Italy an upcoming young driver who has had success running in the Italian Formula 3000 series recently. Ciompi will also be competing in the Italian GP2 series this year with team Renault.

Primary sponsors on the ADi Motorsports Picchio will be ETA, a race design and engineering firm from Italy, as well as ML Lifestyles, a photography and media company of Miami Beach, Florida.

"We are very pleased to have our sponsors as well as Tim and Alex on board for the Homestead race and Tim for the remainder of the year," said Hassel Moran, ADi team owner. 'We are a new team that hopes to have put into place the necessary tools to be a consistent competitor in the series. It will be an uphill battle to accomplish, but the team has a good resume of race experienced players, and I am hoping just to start out with some completions and solid finishes to build a foundation," he added.

Shawn Bayliff, a proven winner in many different forms of racing will be acting as crew chief on the car for Homestead, but will be piloting the car in many of the upcoming races. Bayliff has been involved extensively with the Picchio since its arrival in DP and has now been given the opportunity to bring it up to the competitive level that the Grand Am community expects. "The car is the best it has been since its introduction," says Bayliff, "I am just looking forward to the season ahead, and the chance to prove the car as a competitor."

ADi Motorsports hopes to finish and introduce their second Daytona Prototype in time for the June Mid-Ohio race, and assist Picchio with the introduction of its DP3 later in the year. Picchio has signed several young drivers into their driver development program that will likely be part of the team's multi car effort. "I feel Picchio is taking the necessary steps in building its presence in Grand Am," said Moran, "we look forward to a good relationship with them that will deliver a winning car with many podiums in its future."

ADi recently signed contracts with Picchio making them the factory representative in the US. They will be selling race cars for Picchio which include the DP, SRP, and CN models, as well as being their supplier of parts, technical assistance, and maintenance; plus being the Picchio race team in the US.

ADi Motorsports is located at Virginia International Raceway in a 16,000 square foot facility that caters to the needs of racers that participate in several different series. They perform maintenance, race prep, race car construction, and make many parts from carbon fiber and fiberglass for the racing industry.
