| ADi Motorsports looks for better finish at Laguna Seca
|
Alton, VA - ADi motorsports is hoping for better things to happen to the team as they head to Laguna Seca next week for the US Sports Car Invitational, at the historic track. After suffering a suspension part malfunction at Homestead that led to an early crash in practice, getting avoidably punted in the wall at the halfway point in Long Beach, and running over something at VIR that busted out the grille and caused heating issues after around 35 laps; the team is looking for a change of luck and results. The last two races saw the team move up into the top 15 before misfortune struck.
Team owner, Hassel Moran said, "We have learned a lot over the last three races, are trying to make the necessary changes, and hope to bring a competitive car to Laguna.
Tim and Shawn have done an admirable job, and a big thanks to Peter Argetsinger, who helped fill in at VIR when Tim was called away at the last minute. The team has progressed greatly and with a little luck, we should have a pretty good run next week. All these guys in the series are professionals and we realize there will be no quarter given to our upstart team. We have tried to be helpful and accommodating with the leaders, but now we are hoping to move towards the front more."
The team has been trying to steadily improve the car as it is still going through quite a bit of development. Many may have noticed the new look to the nose in an effort to give the car more aero balance and a grille similar to the ones on BMW's, the ADi Picchio's chosen power plant. 'The Dinan motor has been doing an awesome job with plenty of power and very respectable fuel mileage in the Dayton Prototypes", said Shawn Bayliff, driver and team manager, "We would really like to have a good showing for Dinan at Laguna which is right in their backyard at Morgan Hills. We really want to thank our sponsor's for their patience and loyalty and look forward to getting their name seen a bit more in the series."
ADi Motorsports, located at Virginia International Raceway's Raceplex, will be running the remainder of the Rolex Series season in Grand Am. A podium finish by season's end would be a great accomplishment for the team in their first full season. ADi also makes composite parts, preps race cars, as well as paint, body, and graphics for customers in their 16,000sf facility.
